MUSCLE SHOALS-The Muscle Shoals Amateur Radio Club extended an invitation to the Shoals community to meet local amateur radio operators as they participated in the national Field Day event, June 25-26, at Gattman Park in Muscle Shoals, AL.
In addition to being primarily an emergency preparedness exercise, Field Day is also a contest to see how many stations across the country can be contacted. Contacts are made in several ways such as voice, morse code, and digital (computer to computer), all without the use of internet or cell phone services.
The Quad Cities Daily tried their hand at the event and was also on hand to record the event in photos.
