Preston L. Riley, age 73, passed away June 22, 2022 at his home.
He was born April 9, 1949 in Bethel Springs, the son of the late James Froman and Sophie Mae Clayton Riley. He grew up in Chester County and attended Chester County High School.
He married Kathy Bushnell on April 6, 1976. They made their home in Henderson for forty-six years. In his early years he farmed. Then he worked in road construction for most of his career, spanning nearly fifty years, retiring in 2014.
He was a simple man who enjoyed a simple life, working and enjoying fishing, and spending time with his grandbaby. He loved his wife and his son dearly.
He read his bible often and was a member the First Baptist Church in Henderson.
Mr. Riley is survived by his wife, Kathy Bushnell Riley of Henderson; a son, Cody Riley (Kendall Dellinger, Fiancée) of Jackson; a grandchild, Ainsley Carol Taylor Riley; a sister, Doris Jean Riley Smith (Buddy) of Finger; a sister-in-law, Donna Jean Riley of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Allen Riley.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 25th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Brad Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time.
