Vernon Eugene Rockwell, 84, died Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at North Ms. Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.  He was born in Fishkill, NY and worked at Sunshine Mills for over forty-five years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving eight years.

Services will be Friday, June 24, 10 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Leon Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years – Sherry Rockwell; six children – Vickie Weclowski (Randy), Chris Rockwell (Mary), Rebekah Kelton (Micheal), Christy Leath, Ellissa Rockwell, and Tommy Leath (Kelly); grandchildren – Brandy Storment (Zeke), Torie Price (Carl), Laudrey Cody (Chris), Jacob Cody (Faith), Taylor Weclowski (Haley), Seth Rockwell (Andrea), Tyler Rockwell, Ricky Pineda, Jordan Pineda (Kayla), Jordan McLain (Taylor), Matthew Payne, Michael Payne, Cailyn Leath (Tyler), Sara Schemanski, Cade Burt, Brylie Leath and Braylin Leath; great-grandchildren – Josie Green, Kylie Storment, Karson Price, Hadleigh Price, Keira Cody, Paxtyn Cody, Arianna Cody, Braxton White, Maveryck Weclowski, Aaliyah Payne, Kai Wells, Korabell Pineda and Kendall Pineda.

He was preceded in death by his parents Earl V. and Louise Kassel Rockwell, an infant son, Richard Eugene Rockwell and seven brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Chris Rockwell, Micheal Kelton, Seth Rockwell, Tyler Rockwell, Jacob Cody and Taylor Weclowski.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 23, 6-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
