Raleigh Calvin West, Jr, age 78, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at his residence in Lacey’s Spring, Alabama. Raleigh was born September 25, 1943 in Madison County, Alabama to Raleigh Calvin West, Sr. and Edna Mae West. He was married to Janie Christine Green West for 56 years. Mr. West was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Saint-Gobain Manufacturing Plant in Huntsville, Alabama where he worked as a supervisor. He spent his leisure time bowling, fishing, hunting, lawn care and remodeling work.
Mr. West is survived by his wife, Janie Christine West; son, Marty A. West and his wife Marie; daughter, Stacy Ann Burns and her husband Tim; grandchildren, Zach West (Brianna), Taylor West, Danielle Burns, Megan Mullins (Joe), Tim Wilburn (Kimberly), Kaylab Newby, and Brooke Wilburn (Tawni); great-grand children, Trey Sampson, Bryant Wilburn, Hensley Wilburn, Braylen Wilburn, and Jaiden Bailey; and sister, Ann West.
Preceding Mr. West in death are his parents, Raleigh and Edna West; siblings, Johnny West and Darene Pollard.
The funeral service for Mr. West will be on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City, Alabama. The visitation will be at the chapel 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to the Cahaba Shriners, P.O. Box 3388, Huntsville, Alabama.
