Funeral services for Mr. James William “Dub” Bartholomew, age 82, are scheduled for 2 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill. Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery. Mr. Bartholomew passed away at his home in Sardis on Saturday. He was born December 28, 1939 in Lexington to the late Eunice and Ruby Swafford Bartholomew. He served in the National Guard for 7 years. He was owner and operator of “Dub’s Market” and was a well-known entrepreneur of many family businesses. He enjoyed wood working, mowing yards, and was always trading with others. Mr. Bartholomew is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis Shirley Bartholomew; his son, Barry Bartholomew (Pam); his sister, Doris Hollin; one grandson, Jeremy Bartholomew (Leslie); five great grandchildren, Haley Rogers, Hannah Wood (Drew), Heather, Holly, and Hope Bartholomew; one great-great grandson, Waylon Wood; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Hanna and Glenda Kennedy. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 3-9 PM and on Wednesday, 10 AM – 2 PM at Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill.
