Hershel “H.R.” Moore 84, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022. He was born May 22, 1938 to Earl Hershel Moore and Lucy Mae Latham Moore. He was owner of H. R. Moore Heating and Cooling and he was also a pilot. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Joyce Moore, step-son, Greg Sims. He is survived by two sons, Allan Moore (Tina) of Florence, Alabama, and Johnny Moore of Decatur; two daughters, Jennifer Cole of Decatur, and Sherri Cromer (Chris) of Rome, Georgia;step-son, Brent Sims, one brother, Charles “Buddy” Moore of Moulton and sister Betty Earl Terry of Hatton; grandchildren, Travis and Abby Moore, Susan Moore, Michael, Andrea, Lauren Cole and John, Drew, Patrick and Caroline Cromer;two step grandsons, Walker and Wheeler Sims also nine great grandchildren. Graveside service will be Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10:00am at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of the Valley. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
