Arvel Jeriel “Jerry” Parker 58 of Decatur passed away Monday, June 20, 2022 at his residence. He was born March 26, 1964 in Decatur, Alabama to Arvel Jeriel Parker Sr. and Jayne Inez Entrekin Parker. He is preceded in death by his father and a sister Penny Parker Smith. He is survived by his wife Alisa Sumi Evans Parker, two daughters, Grace Megumi Parker and Emma Ruth Parker, his sister Jenny Parker and his mother Jayne Entrekin Parker and mother in law Misako Evans; nephews Todd Smith (Andi) and Parker Smith (Ashley) and great nephew Brooks and great niece Brinklee. Jerry taught guitar at Calhoun Community College to Adult education. He was an Activities Therapist and did the ropes course at Decatur General West. He loved his music, trading knives and guns but at most his two daughters. He never met a stranger and always left his heart to everyone. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 4:00pm at 1837 Brookmeade Rd. Decatur, Alabama with Parker Smith officiating and a special prayer by Stacey Nelson. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
