Sandra Jolene Rogers Steadman, 74, of Toney, AL, passed away Saturday, June 18 at her home. Sandra was born at home in Hazel Green, AL on Monday, April 5, 1948, to the late Robert E. Rogers, Sr. and Ruth Josephine Price Rogers.
Sandra worked as a bookkeeper and homemaker and is of the Baptist faith. She was pianist for her family and other quartet groups. She served also as pianist at Carter’s Grove and Minor Hill Baptist Church and as organist at Piney Grove Baptist Church. She served in other capacities as teacher, WMU worker, youth leader just to name a few. Sandra loved water painting, ceramic creations, sewing, reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and watching them participate in sports and other activities.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert E. Rogers, Jr., her in-laws, Alvin (Jack) and Ina Hobbs Steadman, and brother-in-law, Terry Edwin Steadman.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jackie Daniel Steadman, of Toney, AL; son, Todd Elliott Steadman his daughter, Sophia and son, Nathan, of Athens, AL, and son, Trent Alexander (Chrissy) Steadman and their daughter, Lyla, of Taft, TN. Also, other surviving family members including her sisters, Christie Sue (Al) Torguson, of Bonita, CA, Judith Mae Mason, of Toney, AL, Wanda Teresa (Charles) Reeves, of Hazel Green, AL and Verlin Ruth (Don) Collins, of Ardmore, AL along with many loved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral home.
A Funeral Service will be on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 10 AM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, with Bros. Bill Sharp and Aaron Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Charity Cemetery in Hazel Green, AL.
Pallbearers will be, Don Hendrix, JD Campbell, Jim Cooper, Kenneth Hogan, Glenn Mitchell, and Lynn Marshall.
