Mary Louise Fesmire Mary Louise Fesmire was born in Wildersville, TN on October 16, 1934 and died on June 12, 2022 in Lexington, TN.

Mary was the oldest of five children born to Thomas and Myrtle Kizer Parker. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1952. Mary was a Christian and loved the Lord.

Mary married Joe Carroll Fesmire right after high school, and they were married for almost 60 years until his death in 2012. After Joe Carroll returned from the war, they moved to Memphis, TN. In 1964 they returned to their hometown, Lexington. Mary worked at various jobs throughout her life. She worked at Salant and Salant, for the Lexington Housing Authority, and for Townsend Plumbing and Electric. Mary loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She always tried to be present at everything in which they participated. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, attending UT Football games, and riding their boat at the river.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Elaine Townsend, and Elaine’s three sons: Brad of Austin, TX, Clay (Nichole) of Chattanooga, TN, and Justin (Candy) of Wildersville, TN. She is survived by a great-granddaughter, Hattie Townsend, of Chattanooga, TN, her sister, Peggy Creasy, of Lexington, TN, and her brother, John (Janice) Parker, of Brownsville, TN.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her son-in-law, Lynn Townsend, her brother, Paul Parker, and her sister, Georgia Ann Scott.

Visitation will be 10:00 – 2:00 on Wednesday, June 15 at First United Methodist Church of Lexington prior to the service at 2:00 with the Rev/Dr. Chris Haynes presiding. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church (27 E Church St., Lexington, TN 38351) or the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse (120 Rush St., Lexington, TN 38351).
