Ms. Nelma Sue Wadley Sue Wadley was born on October 21, 1938, and passed away June 7th, 2022, at Lakeshore Meadows Senior Community in Nashville, her home for the past three years.
Sue was the oldest of five children born to Otral and Bessie Freeman Tomlin. She grew up in the Reagan community with her four brothers and sisters. She married Kenneth Hopper, and they had two daughters, Pam Hopper Wesley, and Patty Hopper. The family moved to Lexington in the early sixties, where Sue was a homemaker and Kenneth worked at the Lexington Electric System until his death in 1976. Sue later married Jerry Wadley and they remained in Lexington.
In the early eighties, Sue owned and managed the Reagan Café in the Reagan community. She loved her work there and was loved by her customers, most of which she knew by name. She later worked in the cafeteria at Leroy Somer and at Oak Haven Assisted Living Facility preparing and serving meals for the residents there. She was known to be a stickler for cleanliness in her home kitchen and in those she worked in, and she prepared the meals at work as if serving them to her own family. She was respected for her dedication and hard work and for her friendly personality. She enjoyed nothing more than preparing a good meal for her family, friends, and/or customers.
Sue was preceded in death by husbands, Kenneth Hopper and Jerry Wadley, daughter Patty Hopper, two brothers Joe and Jimmy Tomlin and sister Kaye Tomlin Wells. Surviving her are her sister Betty Tomlin Stewart, daughter Pam Wesley, step – daughter Amy Wadley Carrington (Rusty), step – son Jeff Wadley (Vickie), granddaughter Candice Tate Stevens (Adam), grandson Landon Tate (Kristen), step-grandsons Michael Wadley (Emily), Tyler Wadley (Gerica), Dustin Ross, Dylan Ross (Jessica), and twelve great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 8 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Pafford Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at Barren Springs Cemetery June 9th at 10:00 am
