Thomas Roy Ferrell – Obituary

thomasThomas Roy Ferrell was born Dec. 14, 1928, in Alpine, Tenn. He was the son of Robert and Ina Ferrell.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, most recently at Cross Point Church of Christ.
After an extended illness, he passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, with his family by his side.
Thomas was a veteran of the Korean War. After leaving the military, he worked as a pressman for the Florence Times and the Cincinnati Enquirer. He also was co-owner of Bits and Pieces Surplus in Petersville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Hayes Ferrell; his parents, his brothers, Robert Ferrell Jr. and Jerry Ferrell; and sisters, Marie Sells and Bobbie June Ferrell.
He is survived by his son, Patrick Ferrell; daughter, Kay McGee (Dan); grandchildren, Donya Ligon (Chris), Corey Ferrell (Danielle), Matt McGee (Mary), of Oak Ridge, Mo., and Kelly Smith (Ned); great-grandchildren, Blair and Olivia Murphy, Jade Ferrell and Zane Smith; brothers, Erwin Ferrell (Brenda) and Glen Ferrell (Darlene), of Cookeville, Tenn.; sisters, Lois Vickers, of Cookeville, Tenn., and Betty Ruth Ogletree (Ray), of Antioch, Tenn.; many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Greenview Memorial Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Raymond Isbell, Clifford Miles and Joe Van Dyke.
Pallbearers will be Brad Bratcher, Kelly Ramsey, Larry Rodgers, Trey Behel, Mike Lansdell, Tim Hayes, Chuck Sullivan and Carl Chadwell.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to special friends and caregivers Paula Delbert and Jenny Lash.
