Jerry Wayne Blankenship, 79, of Athens, passed away on Thursday, May 19th, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Blankenship was born on December 20th, 1942, to Ollie B. Blankenship and Grace Green Blankenship.
Mr. Blankenship is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janell Blankenship; son David Blankenship (Karen); daughters Darlene Stephens (Bud) and Misty Brown (Mark); grandchildren Heather Ball (Scottie), Anna Spradling (Jason), Hope Sides (Keith), Jake Blankenship (Aralie), Randall Brown, and Mark Allen Brown; ten great grandchildren and three nieces.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister Jane Porterfield, and granddaughter Whitney Faith.
Mr. Blankenship was a pastor for 42 years, loved the lord, sharing the message, and his family.
Funeral services for Mr. Blankenship will be Saturday, May 21st, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Donald Terry officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, May 21st, 2022, from 12:00 to 1:50 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Brown, Mark Allen Brown, Randall Brown, Jake Blankenship, Caden Brown, and Keith Sides.
