Dora Mae Bolton Dora Mae Curtis Bolton, age 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Gardens at Poplar Estates in Columbia, Tennessee.
Dora was born on June 2, 1940, to the late Maynon Curtis and Lillian Haywood Curtis in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.
In 1961, in August, Dora married the love of her life David Ray Bolton at Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Dora worked all her life at several nursing homes as a nurse’s aid in Mt. Pleasant and Columbia until her retirement. When Dora wasn’t working, she used to be in her garden planting roses. She also took care of her home and raised three wonderful children.
Dora has been reunited in heaven with her husband: David Bolton.
Dora is also preceded in death by her parents: Maynon Curtis and Lillian Haywood Curtis; brothers: Benny Curtis and Douglas Curtis; and sister: Kaye Curtis Ragsdale.
Dora is survived by her children: Billy Wayne Bolton (Pam), James Ray Bolton (Roberta Ann), and Barbara J. Workman; grandchildren: Robert Wayne Bolton, David Robert Bolton, Kevin Ray Bolton, and Amber Dawn Workman; siblings: Ray Curtis, Jimmy Curtis, Donna Stills, Margaret Keltner; and serval nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Jim Bolton Jr., Mike Bolton, Bonnie Wayne Bolton, David R. Bolton, Kevin R. Bolton, Lawrence Stills, and Walter Bolton.
A service for Dora will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022, at 2:00 PM with Terry Curtis officiating and Mark King speaking. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee from 12:00 pm to the start of the service. Dora will be laid to rest next to her husband at Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Poplar Estates, the Garden, Compassus Hospice for their loving care.
The family invites all for a meal after the burial at Southgate Church of Christ.

The care of Dora Mae Curtis Bolton and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Williams Funeral Home.
