James Reace Alexander was born March 25, 1958 in Memphis, TN, the son of the late Redus Alexander and Pauline Lang Alexander.

James was united in marriage to Sheila Morris on April 27, 2013. He was a member of the Stantonville Methodist Church in Stantonville, Tennessee. He retired from the trucking industry, working mostly for STI Transport in West Memphis, AR. He served in the United States Army. He was a former Police Chief in LePanto, AR. He was an avid bowler, loved fishing and golfing.

Mr. Alexander departed this life on May 12, 2022 in Ramer, Tennessee at the age of 64 Years, 1 Month, 17 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Alexander of Ramer, TN; a daughter, Dena Walker and husband Ryan of Nesbit, MS; a son, Charlie Alexander and wife Beth of Olive Branch, MS; a sister, Kaye Brasfield of Memphis, TN; more like a mother than a mother-in-law, Rheba Morris of Ramer, TN; a grandson, Zack Walker; four grand daughters: Livi Alexander, Cami Walker, Avery Alexander, Oaklie Alexander; beloved cousin, Trish Degraw; and a large host of family and friends who loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 2 pm until services at 3 pm all held at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tennessee, with Tony Newman, Dr. Toni Meek officiating. Burial will follow in the Mars Hill Cemetery at Adamsville, Tennessee. Memorials may be made to a Disabled Veterans Organization.
