Patsy Murphy Franks

Patsy Murphy Franks, 75, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at The Meadows in Fulton. She was born April 29, 1947, in Tupelo, to Virgil and Pauline Franks Murphy. She was a 1965 graduate of Mantachie High School. She married Gary Kenneth Franks that same year. They owned Franks Grocery in the 1970’s. After they sold it, she worked at Mantachie Manufacturing until it closed, and then at Hancock Fabric until health problems forced her to retire. She enjoyed going to tractor shows with her husband. She was a member of Fawn Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Jeff Smith officiating. Dave Perry will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in the Fawn Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Gary Kenneth Franks; one daughter, Tangela “Tangie” Franks Greenwood, who has served as her loving caregiver; a special brother and sister-in-law, Tommy David and Eva Joyce Franks, all of Mantachie; her best friend and cousin, Wanda Burcham Holley of West Point.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Drew Greenwood; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Massey, Brad Lindsey, Terry Harris, Mark Tigner, Andrew Tigner, and Robert Wheeler.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
