FLORENCE-It was announced today by Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton along with Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly said the manhunt for escaped inmate Casey White and correction officer Vicky white has ended.

According to the sheriff the two were taken into custody in Evansville, Indiana after a police pursuit ended in a wreck.  Evansville is about 219 miles from Florence.

U.S. Marshals were investigating a tip in which it had been stated the duo had abandoned a 2006 Ford F-150 truck in a carwash on South Weibach Avenue in Evansville, Indiana.

According to Sheriff Singleton they two had been spotted at a nearby hotel and this is where the chase began.

Sheriff Rick Singleton said Casey White has been taken into custody and Vicky White was taken to hospital after a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  There is no information on Vicky White’s condition according to authorities.

The ongoing search for Casey White, 38 and Vicky White, 56 started on April 29 when Vicky White and Casey White were reported missing after Vicky White was to have taken the inmate to the courthouse for a metal evaluation, which according to Sheriff Singleton was never scheduled.

Additional charge against Vicky White were levied earlier today.  She has also been charged with Identity Theft and Forgery in the purchase of the first getaway car.
