Jimmy Charles “James C.” Young, 78, of Iuka, Mississippi, died in his home on May 6, 2022. Mr. Young graduated from Burnsville High School at the age of 16, where he loved playing basketball. After he graduated, he was in the the Air Force for 4 years. Upon returning to the South, he worked and put himself through the University of Memphis, obtaining a degree in Real Estate and Finance. After opening and owning his own real estate company in Memphis, he accepted a job with the Army Corps of Engineers, during which time he travelled extensively. Upon retirement in Iuka, he formed the Scruggs Bridge Boat Storage which is still in operation today. He served as Director of the Tishomingo County Development Foundation in the early 2000’s. He enjoyed golf, cards, and his nieces and nephews. He especially liked watching University of Memphis Basketball. Mr. Young is survived by his sister, Gail Nunley; his nephew, Marc Nunley; his niece, Candice Turner; his great-nephew, Codey Nunley; and his great-niece, Miranda Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton “Sis” and Virl Young; his grandparents, John (Ethel) Curtis and Bill (Bea) Young; and his great-great nephew, Jason Nunley.  Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, May 8, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS.  A graveside service will be held Monday, May 9, at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery.  Donations may be made in Mr. Young’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
