TUSCUMBIA-Near midnight on May 5 the Tuscumbia Police said one person was murdered and another has been arrested.
Police were called just after 11:00PM to an area near Monroe Drive in Tuscumbia just one block west of Main Street. One person was found stabbed to death. The Tuscumbia Police Chief Ton Logan released a statement saying the stabbing was a result of an altercation between the victim and the suspect.
On Friday, Tuscumbia Police Chief Logan identified the victim as Earnest Lee Jones, 44 of Sheffield. Jones was pronounced death upon arrival at Helen Keller Hospital.
According to Chief Logan Muscle Shoals Police arrested Darecus Jamar Mason, 31 has been charged with murder as a result of the investigation. Mason is being held ion $500,00 bond.
