Funeral Service for Brenda Joyce Wright, 71, of Cullman, will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at Northbrook Baptist Church. Mrs. Wright will lie in state on Friday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service.  The visitation will be 5:30 – 8 p.m. Thursday night, May 5, 2022 at Cullman Funeral Home.  Rev. Keith Warden, Bro. Reid Hollis and Rev. Dave Wright will officiate the service.  The interment will be in New Hope Baptist #2 Cemetery in Holly Pond.

Mrs. Wright passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at her residence. She was born November 22, 1950 to Hoyt and Ruth Gunter.

Brenda was a faithful and joyful follower of Christ, who spent her life serving and encouraging everyone she knew or met for the first time. She was well known for her selfless love, humble spirit, and contagious laughter. She loved cooking and baking, going to the beach, and most of all spending time with her family, especially her two children and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wright; parents, Hoyt and Ruth Gunter; and three sisters Betty Jane Gunter, Martha Ann Wright, and Agnes Grimes.

Survivors include her daughter, Anna McEvoy, husband Todd and granddaughter Mia Catherine; son, Dave Wright, wife Jill and grandsons Grayson, Griffin, Graham and Grady; sisters, Helen Watts, Geraldine Morris and husband Wayne; brother Donald Gunter and wife Joyce; and a host of dearly loved nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Gunter, Keith Watts, Mitch Morris, Mike Morris, Scott Gunter, and Nathan Drake. And honorary Pallbearers Grayson, Griffin, Graham and Grady Wright, and Jackson and Harrison Drake.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to either Cullman County Center for the Developmentally Disabled (CCCDD- 1807 Beech Ave. SE Cullman, AL 35055)) or Hospice of Cullman County (P.O. Box 1108, Cullman, AL 35056). Include in the memo, “In Memory of Brenda Wright.”
