Vida Ree Parsons Nichols

Vida Ree Parsons Nichols, 89, born to Looney and Hazel Parsons on August 19, 1927, went to be with Jesus on May 1, 2022. She was a member of Palestine Community Church. Mrs. Nichols enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the yard, and sewing. She leaves behind 5 children, Jane Chastain of Iuka, Robbin Freeno (Brenda) of Glen, Lanelle Young (Danny) of Tishomingo, Jennifer Wilson of Tishomingo, Katrina Glenn of Arkansas; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Parsons (Sue) and Joe Parsons (Becky); one sister, Joy Bitterman; 7 nieces; and 2 nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Looney and Hazel Parsons; 2 sons, Bill Hoover and Buster Akers; two grandsons, Jason Hoover and Douglas Akers; two sisters, Fay Curtis and Gay Honeycutt; one brother, Pete Parsons; two nieces; and three nephews. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Palestine Community Church. Services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Palestine Community Church. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery. Pallbearers include Daniel Akers, Brandon Young, Sam Wilson, Pat Gilley, Hunter Cooley, and Matthew Hill. An online guestbook may be accessed at
