Ms. Roma Kate Davis Roma Kate Dawson Davis of Arab died April 28, 2022 at home surrounded by her loved ones. Roma was born August 16, 1930 to Mose and Mary Ellen Dawson of Scottsboro, AL. In 1951, she married Bonnard Davis. She became the devoted mother of five children, grandmother to five grandchildren, and was great grandmother to seven great grandchildren. Her love for her family and her compassion for others was rooted in her strong faith and her love for Christ. She was a member of Union Chapel Methodist Church. Roma enjoyed working in her beautiful flower garden and loved watching the birds visit her feeders.

She is survived by her son, Lane Davis; daughters: Cathy (Steve) Hallman, Connie (John) Greaves, and Julie (Doug) Maddux; grandchildren: Stephanie (Jeff) Williams, Jerry Davis, Jennifer (Creighton) Phillips, Lance (Andrea)Hallman, and Derrick Chumley; great grandchildren: Caroline and Rachel Williams, Lindsey (Joshua) Smith, Laney and Roman Davis, Mary Kate and Zachary Hallman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mose and Mary Ellen Dawson; her husband, Bonnard Davis; her daughter, Ellen Elizabeth Davis; and her siblings: Estell Dawson, Leonard Dawson, Gordon Dawson, Creed Dawson, Grady Dawson, Howard Dawson, Porter Dawson, and Mozelle Dawson Derrick.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 2nd, at 11:00 A.M., Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Chris Herbert and David Norton officiating. Internment followed at Arab Memorial City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Hallman, Doug Maddux, Jeff Williams, Lance Hallman, Jerry Davis, Derrick Chumley, Roman Davis, and Zachary Hallman. Honorary pallbearer was John Greaves.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity or in her memory to the United Methodist Children’s Home. Write checks payable to Union Chapel Methodist Church with designation In Memory: Roma Davis. Mail checks to Union Chapel Methodist Church 1212 Union Chapel Rd , Union Grove, AL 35175.
