Mr. Lester Levon Lenox Lester Levon Lenox (88) peacefully went to his Heavenly home on April 26, 2022. He was born on September 1, 1933, to James and Vernetta Abercrombie Lenox. He was married for 69 years to the love of his life, Ruby Oden Lenox.
Lester worked tirelessly to serve the community he loved throughout the years. He graduated from Union Hill High School in 1951 and was proud to be a member of the 1950 State Champion Basketball Team. He faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon and music leader at New Canaan Baptist Church for many years. He helped found the Brindlee Mt. Men’s Club sports complex where teams still play today. He influenced the lives of countless students as a teacher at Union Hill Jr. High School and was a friend to anyone in need.
In addition to his wife, survivors include son, Ricky Lenox (Barri); daughters Karen Lenox McCaghren (Marty) and Kelley Lenox Smith (Ron); grandchildren Josh Lenox (Marla), Dr. KaciaMcCaghren Bray (Rusty), Laura Lenox Ward (Jeremy Varnes), Brandon McCaghren, Chelsey Smith, Dr. Annie Lenox Herren (Bryan), Max Lenox, and Colton Smith; great-grandchildren, Logan McCaghren, Maddie Ward, Zeb Ward, Amberly Lenox,
and Declan McCaghren; brother, Joe Lenox (Jackie); sister, Conda Spyropoulos (Chris); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Randall Kent Lenox; twin granddaughters, Savannah and Suzannah Lenox; as well as four brothers and two sisters.
Family and friends will celebrate his life in a private service at his home on Saturday, April 30th, at 10:00 a.m.
