Armon James Kimbrough Armon James Kimbrough, age 83, of Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Kimbrough operated the Kimbrough Packing House and was known as the “Sausage Man”.  He was a wonderful father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family.  He served as a deacon at Cornerstone Church and loved singing gospel songs in church.  He was known as Papaw to a lot more than just to his own grandchildren, but to their friends as well.  To his grandchildren, he was larger than life. Armon would love telling funny stories, laughing, and making sure everyone around him was laughing too.   He loved football and was a Alabama fan.  Everyone who knew Armon loved him and will cherish their memories of him.

The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022 at Spry Memorial Chapel.   The funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel.  Burial will be at East Franklin Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be members of the family.

He was preceded in death by wife of 49 years, Claudette Kimbrough; daughter, Kathy Horton ; son-in-law, Ricky Corbell; and sister-in-law, Ruth Kimbrough.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Kay Corbell; Mike Kimbrough (wife, Cindy), Darrell Kimbrough; son-in-law, Sammy Horton; grandchildren, Melissa Corbell Berry, Chris Corbell (wife, Alisha), Jamey Horton (wife, Emily), Linda Bohannon (husband, Brandon), Heather Kimbrough, Nikki Kimbrough Moore; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother Odell Kimbrough; special friend, Corrine Swinney; and several nieces & nephews.

The family would like to extend a sincere heartfelt thanks to Shelby, Amber, Leca, Ashley, and Lance with Shoals Hospice; as well as Abby with Keller Health Care of Red Bay; and the nurses, staff, and Dr. Almirol for the love and care shown to Armon.
