Ritz Films Celebrate Literary Classics

SHEFFIELD-Audiences can enjoy watching their favorite film adaptations of literary classics with the Ritz Theatre’s “Books. Camera. Action.” film series. The series will include three movies: Pride & Prejudice (2005) on April 8, Little Women (2019)  on April 15, and The Great Gatsby (2013) on April 23. Each film will start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and available to purchase now at tennesseevalleyarts.org or at the door.

The three films will be shown on the big screen in the historic theatre. Concessions– including fresh popcorn, sodas, candy, wine, and beer–will be available.

The series launches on Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m. with Pride & Prejudice, which is based on Jane

Austen’s beloved 1813 novel. The film stars Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen,

The second film is Little Women on Friday, April 15, at 7 p.m. This Greta Gerwig-directed film stars Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, and Eliza Scanlen. It is the most recent adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s 1868 novel. The series will wrap up on Saturday, April 23, at 7 p.m. with The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Carey Mulligan. Baz Luhrmann directed this opulent film based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel.
