William Edward “Bud” Wilkinson, Jr., age 89, of Arab, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mr. Wilkinson was born on May 22, 1932, in Jefferson County, Alabama to William Edward “Bill” Wilkinson Sr. and Mary Katherine Ridge Dorr. Mr. Wilkinson was Mechanical Engineer for NASA. He was a member of the Arab First Baptist Church, Mr. Wilkinson was a Ordained Baptist Minister since June 1, 1975, he served 3 churches in his ministry Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Bakers Chapel Baptist Church and Corinth Baptist Church. He loved Alabama Football and other sports, also loved watch his grandchildren playing sports, he had a passion for old cars and being A shade tree mechanic.
Mr. Wilkinson leaves behind his wife of 66 Years Mary Margaret Reese Wilkinson, Sons: William E. “Buddy” Wilkinson, III, (Sandy), James David Wilkinson (Cortney). Daughters: Sarah Amy Benoskie (Ken). Brother: Edward L. Wilkinson. Grandchildren: Leanne Jordan, Rachel Buck, Bellini Benoskie, Todd Wilkinson, Matt Wilkinson, Tyler Wilkinson and Melea Mullican. Great Grandchildren: Austin Bridges, Luke Wilkinson, Will Boyle, Maddie Boyle, Anna Sellers, Brodie Buck, Emma Sellers and Kalayna Wilkinson.
Preceded in Death: His Parents, 2 Daughters: Janet Marie Jordan and Katherine Ann Wilkinson.
A visitation will be held at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with a Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Bro. Roger Willmore and Bro. Randy Evers, Officiating, Interment will follow at the Arab Memorial Cemetery
