James Ottis Boatright

Funeral services for James Ottis Boatright will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 29th at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Welti Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation for the public will be prior to the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

 

Mr. Boatright was born on September 24, 1946 to Ottis and Ethelene (Johns) Boatright. He died at the age of 75 at Cullman Regional Medical Center on January 23rd. He was a lifelong member of the Welti and Center Hill community. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was also a retired coal miner, truck driver and life long farmer.

 

Survivors include his children, Jeff (Rhonda) Boatright and Susan Stapp; grandchildren, Breeanna (Devon) Basinger, Kevin (Danielle) Stapp, James Jordan Boatright, Jamie Lee (Rachel) Stapp, and Matthew Jeffery Boatright; great grandchildren, Fallyn Basinger, Jossyln Basinger, Lakelyn Basinger, and Lily Stapp; brothers, Tommy (Sherry) Boatright and Bennie Boatright; nephew, Chris (Kristi) Boatright; and a host of family, friends and neighbors.

 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Boatright was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Boatright; and son-in-law, Darryl Stapp.
