George Edward Davis, 92, of Harvest passed away on Jan. 24, 2022.
George was born in Huntsville, Alabama and was a member of Harvest Baptist Church. He was previously a member of Highlands Baptist Church for 45 years where he served as a Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed working on cars and watching the Atlanta Braves baseball in his spare time. George also shared his baseball hitting skills with local players and schools. George served our country for four years in the Army.
George is survived by wife, Shirley M Davis; children, Pamela Lumpkin (Todd), Jimmy Davis (Amie); grandchildren, Edward W. Lumpkin (Lacey), Kyla M. Lumpkin; great-grandchildren, Clayton , Caden, Everly; sister, Elnora Johnson.
He is preceded in death by parents, Charlie Davis and Nellie Davis Garrett; brothers and sisters, Marie D. Harbin, Lola D. Boggus, Edith D. Smith, Joe Davis, Monroe Davis Visitation will be held on Friday, January 28th from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Berryhill. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Jeff Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Hampton Cove Cemetery.
