Mary Elizabeth Carter

Age 88 of Goodlettsville passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at The Residence of Alive Hospice. She was born November 4, 1933 in Nashville, TN to Willis D. & Elsie Felts Pairs. She worked as a seamstress for Turner Manufacturing before her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, growing plants and flower gardening. She enjoyed talking with her friends and never met a stranger. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buster Carter; two sons, Dennis Wayne Carter and James Eugene Carter; three sisters, Mildred Parks, Barbara Denson and Ruby Pairs; two brothers, Tommy Pairs and Willis D. Pairs, Jr.. She is survived by her son, John (Kay) Carter, Goodlettsville, TN; brother, James (Alice) Pairs, Portland, TN; sisters, Shirley Lassiter, Greenbrier TN and Dorothy Smith, White House, TN; 8 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Funeral service is scheduled for Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11am in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Ralph Carter officiating. Interment will follow at 1pm in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family is planned for Sunday, November 21, 2021 4-8pm and Monday, November 22, 2021 9-11am at the funeral home.
