Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Alta Pursley Thompson, age 92, of Estill Springs. Mrs. Thompson passed from this life on November 11, 2021 while at Elk River Rehab in Winchester. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Estill Springs for over 53 years. She loved to sew, and thoroughly enjoyed going to yard sales, canning and cooking. Mrs. Thompson was a lady of great faith with strong Christian values. Many will remember her for her kind words, sweet smile and the love she showed to everyone she met. In her younger years, she worked in factories and at Lawson’s Drive-In. She leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her passing, her daughters, Gwen Neal of Estill Springs and Vonda (Bob) LaBelle of Matteson, IL; brother, Joe Pursley of Arizona; 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Eula Camp Pursley; spouse of 65 years, Albert Thompson; sons, Kenneth Ray Thompson, Albert David Thompson, Donald Clifford Thompson; granddaughters, Heather Hendrix and Lori Smith. The family will receive friends on Saturday November 13, 2021 between the hours of 11:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. A Graveside Service will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Estill Springs at 3:00 p.m. Bro. John Gipson will be officiating
