John S. MartinA Celebration of Life service for John S. Martin, 58 of Corinth, MS, will be Monday, November 8, 2021 at 11:00 A M at Union Baptist Church with Military Honors. Bro. Haskel Sparks and Bro. Raybon Richardson will officiate the service with Jacob Roscoe Fish delivering the eulogy. Interment will be at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 5:00 P M to 8:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home – South and Monday, November 8, 2021 from 10:00 A M until service time at Union Baptist Church. Mr. Martin passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. John was born on December 21, 1962 to Billy J. and Ann C. Martin. He was of the Baptist faith, and a retired power plant lead tech at TVA Ashland combined cycle plant. He also worked at North Anna Power Plant in Richmond, VA. Mr. Martin also was owner/operator of Martin Trucking Company for 9 years. He served in the US Navy for 6 years, where he served aboard the USS Lewis and Clark submarine. John was a 1980 graduate of Kossuth High School and loved working on tractors. He had a mechanic mindset and could fix anything. He was always willing to help anyone and was a people person. John is survived by his wife, Shonte Grizzell Martin: two sons, Jacob Roscoe Fish (Tonya) and John William Martin; one daughter, Ashley Kodsi (Bryan) of Richmond, VA; step-daughter, Shania Grizzell; five grandchildren, Topanga Fish, Logan Fish, Brandy Leriche, Devyn Kodsi and Colton Kodsi ; one great grandchild, Bellamy Leriche; his mother, Ann Crow Martin; two brothers, Billy Martin (Paula), Clint Martin (Shae); one sister, DeAnna Carter (Stacey); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy J. Martin. Pallbearers will be John William Martin, Jacob Roscoe Fish, Jeff Young, Mark Parvin, Sully Carter, Jacob Carter, Jose Ruiz and D.J. Sweeney. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. John S. Martin.

John was one of my men onboard the USS Lewis and Clark. He was a super star in my division. A great person. He will be missed by those who knew him. Please accept my condolences……
