James Edward Staggs

James Edward Staggs, age 70, of Ethridge, TN passed away Friday, September 10, 2021, at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from Dura Automotive, and a member of American Legion Post 63. Mr. Staggs served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert James and Ada Marie Weaver Staggs; his first wife and mother of his children, Mary Nell Staggs; one brother, James Eugene Staggs; three half-brothers, Lonnie Brewer, Elbert Brewer, and Lester Brewer; and one half-sister, Nora Mae Staggs.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Staggs of Ethridge, TN; two sons, Shannon Edward Staggs (Kelly) of Ethridge, TN and Brandon Lee Staggs (Crystal) of Summertown, TN; three step-daughters, Heather Belew (Sean) of Loretto, TN, Holley Sills of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Hope Coffman (Michael) of Leoma, TN; one sister, Bonnie Brewer of Ethridge, TN; nine grandchildren, Chelsey Staggs, Lindsey Staggs, Mary Elizabeth Staggs, Madaline Staggs, Ryleigh Belew, Blakeley Sills, John Pierce Sills, Haylee Coffman, and Colton Coffman; and his buddy, Murphy.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Monday, September 13, 2021. Interment will follow at Old Ethridge Cemetery in Ethridge, TN with full military honors.
