Brenda K. Johnson Woods, age 77, passed away early Wednesday in Jackson. Brenda was born October 11, 1943 in Lexington to the late Clyde Hickman Johnson and Edna Hall Patton. She went to Lexington High School, where she played basketball and graduated in 1962. She was a faithful member of Mazies Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Brown Shoe Company. Brenda loved going to town, yard sales, gardening, recipes, and the fair! She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. H. “Hugh” Woods; her parents, Clyde Johnson (Irene) and Edna Patton (Grady). Survivors include her two sons, Ronald Hugh Woods and Brian C. Woods (Gina); two grandchildren, Carrington “Caty Beth” Woods and Carson Hugh Woods (Camryn Scott); one great granddaughter, Cecelia Castleman; and two brothers, Jerry Johnson (Nadell) and Jeff Patton (Michele). Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Thursday, September 9, 2021 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Mazies Chapel Cemetery.
