A graveside funeral service for Keith Samuel Jones, age 72, will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, 40 Pleasant Grove Road, Fayetteville, with Bro. Paul Clayton and Bro. Adam Ragland officiating.  Family and close friends are invited to the graveside service.  There will be no visitation prior to the service, and the family will plan a celebration of life at a date in the future.  Keith’s long-time golf buddies, Randy Sexton, Will Worthington, Roy Cox, Rick Polk, Bill Goodner and Bert Peake, will serve as pallbearers.

Keith was born on July 25, 1949 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late James Alexander Jones, Sr., and the late Elizabeth P. Jones.  He attended Huntsville High School and graduated from Columbia Military Academy where he loved playing football.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama–Huntsville in 1977.  Keith then earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Cumberland School of Law in May of 1980.  He was a founding and senior partner with the law firm of Wolfe, Jones, Wolfe, Hancock, Daniel & South where he specialized in residential and commercial real estate law until he retired in 2016.  Keith got his Alabama real estate license in 2019 and sold real estate with Re/Max Unlimited in Huntsville.

Keith was a long-time member of the church of Christ at Park City where he loved serving as a song leader.  He served on several church committees including the building and grounds renovation committee on which he worked tirelessly and the benevolence committee through which he exhibited a passion for helping those in need in the spirit of Christ.  Keith loved his brothers and sisters in Christ, and his passion, zeal, friendship and smile will be missed.

Keith had many passions in life, but after his passion for Christ, his most meaningful passion was family.  Oh how he loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, foster great-grandbabies, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews… Keith’s face lit up at the mere mention of them.  He loved any opportunity to gather with family, and one of his favorite events of the year was the annual McAlister Family Reunion.  Keith was an avid golfer and was blessed with the best group of golfing buddies for almost 30 years.  He loved quail hunting, loved his bird dogs, loved spending days guiding quail hunts, and especially loved bird hunting trips with his brother, Jamie, and his dear friend, Randy.  Keith also had a passion for shooting sporting clays. He participated in many state and national tournaments and in 2002, he won first place in his class in the Tennessee State Sporting Clays Championship.

Keith is survived by his wife of almost 32 years, Mary Sue Towry Jones; brother, Jamie (Kathy) Jones; mother-in-law, Peggy Towry; brother-in-law, Jeff (Pam) Towry, all of Fayetteville; sister-in-law, Patti Washburn, Decatur, AL; brother-in-law, Kelly Towry, Brooklyn, NY; son, Casey Jones, Huntsville, AL; son, Kevin (Stacie) Jones, Hagerstown, MD; son, Hunter Jones, Greer, SC; son, Drew (Jessica) Hendrix, Ardmore, AL; granddaughters, Lynn (Taylor) Warwick Zerbe and Alexa Miller; grandsons, Jason Jones, Austin Jones, Garrett Jones, Addison Miller, Liam Hoheusle, Xander Hoheusle, Kylan Jones, Gunner Hendrix and Jackson Hendrix; great-grandchildren, Julius and Blessing Zerbe and many beautiful foster great-grandbabies; nieces, Sara Jones, Jamie Leigh (Chad) Aurentz, Maggie (Brad) Shelton, Jerianne (Matthew) Paul; nephews, Jake Washburn and Luke Washburn; great nieces, Jordan Corpuz, Alex Shelton, Hensley Shelton; great nephews, Brandon Corpuz and Sam Shelton.  In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Jones, and his father-in-law, J.E. Towry.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to organizations that were dear to Keith’s heart:
