MaryAnn Lowe was born March 7, 1934 in Birmingham, AL to Earl Frank and Evelyn Rose Woods Roberts. After going to Shades Valley High School, he married Pete Lowe on June 8, 1952, moved to Gary, Indiana and worked at Montgomery Wards. They eventually moved back to Claysville, Al and she ran Lowe’s Texaco Gas & Grocery, ran a paper route and worked at the Guntersville Hospital Nursery. After she raised her children, she and her husband started working and traveling together. They moved to Sardis, AL and she worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory until she retired. After Mr. Lowe passed away, she moved back to Claysville on property they had bought behind the store and lived at 94 Braswell Rd until August 28, 2021. She was a very sweet, kind-hearted and loving friend, wife, momma, grandmother and great-grandmother.
