Mrs. Rosa Lee Simmons Cunningham, age 80, passed from this life Wednesday August 18, 2021 at Life Care Center of Red Bank, TN from an extended illness. Rosa was born, in Spencer, on May 30, 1941 to the late Jesse Eston and Daisy Yates Simmons. She was a member of the Church of God Church and a homemaker. She was very proud of her time driving the senior citizen bus for the Cedar Grove Community Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband; Leon Cunningham, sons; Austin Lewis and Keith Lewis, daughter; Sherry Therrell, brothers; Roy Henry Simmons and Larry Simmons, sisters; Lydia Guy, Vollie Simmons Baker, Bessie Mooneyham and Martha Walker.
Rosa is survived by her loving family, daughters; Pamela Payne of Chattanooga, TN, Elizabeth Cartwright of Somerset, Kentucky, and Jamie (Mark) Hess of Bellevue, Michigan, brother; James Ernest (Iva) Simmons of Spencer, sister; Daisy Mae Komor of Nashville, Michigan. Ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday August 21, at 3:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. Ricky Mooneyham officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation times are, Friday August 20th 5:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday August 21st 1:00pm till time of service at 3:00pm.
