Barbara Lee OneyMrs. Barbara L. Oney, 87, Ozark, MO, formerly of Guntersville, passed away Wednesday. She was born on September 27th, 1933 in Laurel, MS. Barbara married Russ in 1950, raised their family in Indiana and moved to Alabama in 1976. They were happily married for over 67 years. Mrs. Oney was a member of Lake City Assembly of God. She loved her family fiercely, and absolutely loved to cook. Barbara was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell A. Oney, Sr, and her parents, Robert Sydney Headrick and Thelma Amanda Headrick, three siblings, and one granddaughter – Sherry Slaman.

She is survived by her two sons; Russell Oney Jr. (Susan) and R. Michael Oney (Sharon); two daughters – Judy Nobles (David) and Ann Reeves (Dennis); grandchildren – Tracy Millikan (Grant Birge), Greg Slaman, Danielle Lookingbill (Roy), Rusty Glines, Drew Campbell, Hannah Vaughn (Weston), Grace Kirsch (Matthew), Christian Oney, Amanda Taylor (David), Joseph Oney (Whitney) Colleen Bourne (Eric) and Abby Oney, great grandchildren – Jessica Hogan (Casey), Megan Millikan, Christopher Shamp, Amber Slaman, Lindsey Slaman, Curtis Slaman, Alexis Glines, Savanna Vaughn, Phoenix Vaughn, Archer Vaughn; and great great grandchildren – Huxley Hogan.

The visitation will be Monday, August 16th, from 6:00pm till 8:00pm at Carr Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00am with Michael Oney and Stan Broadus officiating. A graveside service will follow immediately at Crestview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lake City Assembly of God.
