Anna Marie Yates, age 92, passed from this life Thursday August 5, 2021 at Generations of Spencer from an extended illness. A Van Buren County native, Anna was born on July 1, 1929 to the late William Glayds and Lillian Avo Morris Forsythe. She was a seamstress, homemaker, and a member of Spencer Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed socializing at the Van Buren County Senior Center with her friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband; James Lloyd Yates, brothers; Willie Joe and Woodrow Charles Forsythe and sister; Audrey Lee Simmons.
Anna is survived by her loving family, daughter; Joyce Anne Kell of Lynn Haven, FL, son; James Dale (Teresa) Yates of Spencer, brother; Willard (Betty) Forsythe of Spencer, sister; Kaye (Richard) Clowdus of Cheyenne, WY, grandchildren; Regina (Jose) Raplee, Julie (Warren) Clark, Dustin (Rebecca) Yates, Ross (Heather) Yates, great-grandchildren; Nic (Doshia) Raplee, Alex and Tiffany Raplee, Sara, Emily and Taylor Clark, Savannah and Landon Yates, Maebry and Ryan Yates, great-great-grandson; Grayson O’Neil, special friend; Mamie Madewell. Many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends also survive.
