FLORENCE – Halley Phillips told The Quad-Cities Daily that she expects a full house at the Marriott Hotel Conference Center tonight. It’s a Muscle Shoals to Music Row benefit for Scott Boyer, Jr., famed musician and member of The Decoys band.

Phillips, Director of Digital media for Big River Broadcasting, said that response to tonight’s show has been overwhelming. She also added that there are still tickets available for those wishing to come and fill the room. “There will be overflow seating on a first come first serve basis,” she said, “All reserved is sold out but arrangements have been made for general admission overflow seating beginning at 7:00 o’clock tonight at the door.”

Boyer is a consummate guitarist-singer-songwriter. He gained acclaim internationally as a founding member of the seminal folk-rock group Cowboy, and as the songwriter of hits for Gregg Allman, Eric Clapton, and Bonnie Bramlett., according to his Myspace page. He underwent surgery 11 days ago at ECM and is still recovering in the hospital. The benefit is being help to assist with his extensive medical bills.

Those who can’t make tonight’s show but who want to contribute to the Scott Boyer Recovery Fund, may stop by any branch of Bank Independent who is handling the collection process.
