Martha Jane Jones George Renner, age 75, passed away on May 9, 2021 in Fayetteville, Tennessee at the Elk River Health and Rehab. She was born on September 26, 1945, in Reese Cove in Swaim, Alabama to the late Marvin and Genva Oliver Jones. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sister, Jo Ann Steele of Winchester; brothers, Ruben Jones of Cowan, Donnie Jones of Winchester; children, David Dalton George of Cowan, Mark Allan George of Cowan; grandson, David Dayton George of Cowan; and the father of her children, Dayton Chig George of Huntland. Martha loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also loved to sing the glory of God, and going out to the creeks in the Paint Rock Valley. She never met a stranger and would talk to everyone she met. She will always be remembered for her giant loving heart, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Martha is survived by her son, Matthew Daniel George of Huntland; daughter, Margaret Anne (Allen) George of Huntland; granddaughters, Holly Fanning McCutheon of Huntland, Jennifer George Morales of Winchester, April George, Mary Jane George both of Murfreesboro, Thalia Jade George of Winchester; grandson, Joshua Fanning of Huntland;15 great-grandchildren; brother, Earnest Paul Jones of New Market, Alabama; and ex-husband and companion, John Tom Renner. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Ashley and Rev. George Sells. Interment will follow at Maxwell cemetery.
