Johnny Wesley Maddox, 86, of Haleyville, Alabama, formerly of Addison, Alabama, entered into rest on May 1, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

 

Mr. Maddox was born on May 2, 1934. Johnny was an avid coon hunter who loved raising coon dogs as well as raising fancy chickens as pets. He was a Braves fan and enjoyed watching westerns on TV. Johnny could build anything and was always piddling with different woodworking projects. He was a simple, but a good man who was always willing to help anyone in need.

 

No services are planned at this time.

 

Johnny is survived by his granddaughter, Kimberly Pratt; great granddaughter, Samara Pratt; sisters, Cora Pigg, and Betty Adams; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ida Maddox; first wife, Mary Frances Maddox; daughter, Carolyn Nichols; parents, O.W. and Joanna Maddox; brothers, James “Red” Maddox, Joey Maddox, and Quinton Maddox; and sisters, Ellie Pigg, Anna Belle Johnson, Opal Blackwood, and Eva Laursen.
