TUSCUMBIA-The Alabama Music Hall of Fame is excited to announce their recording studio has reopened and is ready for visitor use.

Due to COVID-19, the Hall of Fame took extra precautions in keeping the studio, as well as the entire museum, clean and safe for all guests. Unfortunately, this meant temporarily closing the recording booth in order to follow mask mandate guidelines and social distancing requirements.

After Governor Kay Ivey’s recent transition to the new Safer Apart Order, which raised the statewide mandate on mask requirements, the Hall of Fame is finally able to reopen one of their most popular attractions.

The Alabama Music Hall of Fame offers a fun karaoke style experience where visitors can pay $10.00 to have their version of popular songs burned onto a CD. This allows guests visiting the Shoals area to take a musical token of their trip home with them.

The studio features all new high quality equipment and technology available for visitors to use. Some of the new equipment added include a new Rode brand, multitrack recorder, new camera mount for people to record video of their performance, and a new acoustic guitar that allows people to perform original songs with their own accompaniment with new instrument mics specifically for recording acoustic instruments.

People recording their own songs/demos need to call ahead and schedule an appointment to record. Starting May 1st, people will be able to book a time on the museum’s website at alamhof.org. Otherwise, any guest who visits the museum and would like to cover their favorite songs, are available to do so during operating hours Tuesday-Friday 9:00-5:00 and Saturday 10:00-4:00 depending on staff availability!

“Our recording studio is one of the most requested interactive attractions we have. It feels great knowing that we can finally open it back up to the public! Look for us to announce a contest soon surrounding the best song recorded at the AMHOF Recording Booth.” – Sandra Burroughs, Executive Director
