Brenda Frances KinnaneBrenda Frances (Hanlin) Kinnane of Huntsville passed away Wednesday at the age of 78. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on May 7, 1942, to Margaret and Guy Hanlin.

Mrs. Kinnane was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harry Earl Kinnane, brother, Kenneth Hanlin, and granddaughter Amanda Sickels. She is survived by one sister, Sandra Silvers; children Ronnie Kinnane, Sheryl Shelton, and Jennifer Sickels; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

After graduation from Woodlawn High School of Birmingham in May 1960, Brenda and Harry were married on August 27, 1960. In May of 1987, she graduated from UAH with a Bachelor’s degree in interior design and opened a Decorating Den franchise. Mrs. Kinnane was a dedicated mother and proud grandmother who had a love of gardening, needlepoint, sewing, and photography. She and Harry were long-time members of the Huntsville Photographic Society.

Visitation will be at 1:00 pm Sunday, April 18 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel, and she will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens or Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care.
