Barbara Jeanne McCormick of HendersonBarbara McCormick age 74 passed away early Saturday morning in her daughter’s home in Luray, TN.

She was born February 25, 1947 in Peoria, IL, daughter of the late Richard and Marjorie Helen Wolford Egan. She grew up in Edwards, IL and graduated from Elmwood High School. She married Max McCormick in 1969 and they made their home in East Peoria. They moved to Henderson in 1981. He preceded her death in 1998.

She worked in Health Care all of her career and most recently worked at Jackson Madison County General Hospital as a physical therapy technician for 27 years before retiring in 2009. She was active in church activities with First United Methodist especially as a volunteer at the Gleaners House. She enjoyed yard work and decorating her home and yard.

She was a strong influence on her family especially on her daughter and granddaughters in choosing careers in the medical field.

Mrs. McCormick is survived by a son, Michael Shawn McCormick (Kimberly) of Henderson; daughter, Cindy Lou Brittain (the late Richard Holroyd) of Luray, two step daughters, Debbie Harlow (Rick) of Huntsville, Texas, Marilyn Myhan of Henderson, a brother, Jerry Egan of Edwards, IL, David Egan of Elmwood, IL, and two sisters, Diane Volmer of Peoria, IL, and Shirley Gunter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Henderson with Cyndi Langhans officiating. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at First United Methodist Church 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The First United Methodist Church in Henderson.
