Visitation will be Tuesday April 6, 2021 from 1:00PM – 2:00PM at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL. with the funeral at 2:00PM in the chapel, Bro. Nathan Carroll officiating. Burial to follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
She was a member of The First Baptist Church in Haleyville, AL., where she served as Greeter, WMU leader, Sunday School Leader, Young at Heart, Food Ministry and The Harvest of Hope.
Jeanette was very involved with her 3 daughters with everything from being Girl Scout leader, softball coach, to becoming a Majorette/Band Mom, Cross Country/Track Mom and finishing up as the Ultimate Basketball Mom as well as a very competitive Bridge Player.
She entered the job Market in order to help finance the many trips in the “Action” Van to follow ballgames.
We must not forget Jeanette’s stint in the famous “Red Hat Society. She throughly enjoyed dressing gawdy in her Purple dresses and Red Hat’s. The many friends, fellowhip and laughter filled her retirement age until she met her husband, Russ Mayfield. They had a whirlwind romance and honeymoon perioed of fune and travel and square dancing together all over the country until a stroke sidelined her. Russ then became her ever patient and loving caretaker, She was a very Blessed and Loved Lady, that is now dancing with our Lord!
She is survived by her daughters, Sheri Pyles West, Susan (Dan) Williams and Shelly (Brad) Cunningham; she was Nana tp her grandchildren, Jeni Lee West, Will (Nicole) West, Daniel Williams, Patrick (Allison) Williams, Erica (Gavin) King and Trey Cunningham; great grandchildren, Naomi Grace Williams, Elizabeth Faith Williams, LynnLee Angel King, Joshua Issac West and Benjamin Carter Whalen; brothers, Harrison Dedmon, Laverne (JoAnne) Demon and Robert (Marye) Dedmon.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eppy Alonzo and Cecile Dedmon; 1st husband, Henry “Bud” Pyles and 2nd husband, Russ Mayfield; brother, Roy and Dedmon.
