Jeremiah Taylor Curtis, 32, of Madison, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Sunday.

Jerry was an awesome father, son, brother, and friend.  He was a friend to everyone.  Jeremiah loved his family and most importantly, God.  At the tender young age of 4, Jeremiah knew he needed Jesus in his life and he accepted Christ as his Savior.  During all of his trials and tribulations, Jeremiah’s love for his Savior never wavered.  He was a loving father; his boys were his whole world.  He enjoyed each precious moment with Michael and James.  Jeremiah was always willing to help – it did not matter what it was.  He loved serving wherever he saw a need.   You could find him cutting someone’s grass without being asked or cleaning a house for someone.  He was always willing to provide a listening ear.

He had a servant’s heart and loved his family very much. He loved his Mama and spent many hours talking with her and doing things for her.  Jeremiah loved his daddy and his goal was to be just like his dad.  He looked forward to working side by side with him every day. Coming from a large family, Jeremiah loved getting together and spending time with his cousins, nieces, and nephew. He was always there for his brothers when they needed him.  He loved helping Kevin work on his truck and making deliveries.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending quality time outside with Caleb. For his grandma, he found joy in caring for her whether he was carrying her to doctor’s appointments or just spending time sitting and talking with her.  Jeremiah treasured all of the memories he had made over the years with each of his grandparents.

Jeremiah was patient and kind; he was a peacekeeper.  He loved every creature, great and small.  He did not want to harm even a spider, but instead would carefully collect it and release it outside.

Jeremiah had reached a point in his spiritual life where he understood Paul’s statement in Phil 4:11, “for I have learned in whatsoever state I am, to be content.”  He was content with what he had and did not have a desire for material and worldly things.  He was happy with simple things.  He was quick to forgive. He enjoyed listening to God’s word every morning before starting his day.  He did a bible study every day with his best friend and stated if he did not spend time in God’s word each morning that it would not be a good day.  Jeremiah knew the importance of working on his relationship with God and continued to do so every day.  He had an unwavering faith knowing that the Lord is always working on our behalf.

Jeremiah had an impact on everyone he knew and his presence will be greatly missed every day.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin “Bob” Elbert Curtis “Pa Curtis;  Hazel Elizabeth Taylor Curtis “MeMaw”;  and James Elbert Terrell “Pa Terrell”.

Surviving family members include his sons, Michael Taylor Curtis (age 8) and James Marvin Curtis (age 4);  His parents:  Ronnie Dale & Myra Kay Curtis;  His grandparents:  Annie Ruth Terrell and Charles Wayne (Peggy) Robison;  His brothers:  Kevin Dale (Megan) Curtis and Caleb Burnell Curtis;  His nieces and nephews: Hannabeth Hagen Curtis, Zadie Cheyenne Curtis, Ryleigh Ann Balwinski, Caleb “CJ” Burnell Curtis Jr, Lorelei Hazel Curtis;  Jeremiah is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
