Margaret Brown  Margaret Elizabeth Foster Brown, age 86, went home to her Lord and Savior on March 29, 2021. Margaret (affectionately dubbed “Maggie B” by her friends at her retirement community) was born on November 2, 1934, in Lynnville, Tennessee, where she grew up. In 1964, she married Carroll S. Brown, and they had 46 loving years together. In 1970, Margaret and Carroll relocated to Hendersonville, TN, then to Columbia, TN in 1988. In 2014, she moved to Franklin to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law. She worked in banking for the majority of her career, retiring from First Farmers & Merchants bank.

Margaret was always fun-loving and full of joy. She was a person who made others feel good about themselves. She was very social and enjoyed her Sunday School class, her monthly First Farmers retiree lunches and making friends, and participating in the fun activities at her retirement community.

Margaret was a devout Christian and a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in Columbia. She loved the Grace Sunday School class and kept in touch with many of her friends from thereafter she no longer lived in Columbia. In recent years, she enjoyed attending the Joy Sunday school class at Brentwood Baptist Church.

Margaret lived out her Christian faith – spending her life loving and serving others. A devoted wife and mother, her family was of utmost importance to her. She was never happier than when gathered with her entire family for a holiday meal, a celebration, or a random occasion. Not only was Margaret a versatile athlete (playing basketball and being a cheerleader during her high school years), she was an avid reader, seamstress, and fantastic cook!

She is preceded in death by her parents: Lorene and Charles M. Foster; her husband: Carroll S. Brown, Jr.; her sister Mary Boatright. Margaret will be missed profoundly by her daughter and son in law, Beth and Greg Wade; her brother and sister-in-law Charlie and Joyce Foster; her brother in law, Dean Boatright; her grandchildren Adam Wade (Dinah), Sarah Bush (Chris), Forrest Wade; her great-grandchildren Kathryn and Ashley Wade, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church on April 1 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Bob Vassar and Greg Wade officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.

The family thanks Alive Hospice in Nashville for the loving care they provided. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pleasant Heights Baptist Church, 2712 Trotwood Ave., Columbia, TN 38401, or Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN. 37203.
