Gallery Photo Dr. Larry W. Clark, 81, of Owens Cross Roads, AL passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2021 with his family at his side.

Larry was born to John M. and Blanche Clark in Kansas City, MO.

After high school and a semester of college, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and married his sweetheart, Joyce Williams. Larry then worked his way through college (UMKC and Oklahoma State) and began his career as a teacher, principal, and superintendent in Missouri public schools. His passion was helping students, in and out of the classroom. He led by example and built lifelong friendships with students, teachers, and others in the communities he served.

He was a Kansas City man through and through. Bryant’s and Jack’s Stack were his favorites. Quarter Finals at the NAIA, Weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks. Going to his boys’ concerts. plays and ball games. New Year’s Eve with friends and family. Movies, Road trips. Royals games. But he really loved the Chiefs and was always up for going to a game–no matter the weather.

More than anything, he loved his family and in 2011 moved with Joyce to Alabama to be closer to his kids and grandkids. He quickly adopted The Crimson Tide as his team and enjoyed SEC football. His grandsons were his pride and joy and he bragged about them any time he got the chance. His family is grateful for the closeness and time spent together these last ten years.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Greg.

He is survived by his bride of 62 years, Joyce, brother, Ron (Hazel), sons: Jon (Judi) and Eric, and grandsons: Logan and Tanner.

The family plans to hold a memorial service at a yet to be determined date later this year.
