Mr. James Edward Taylor Mr. James Edward Taylor, age 74, of Lacey’s Spring, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Taylor was born on January 17, 1947 to the late James Alfred Taylor & Margie Holcomb Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a United States Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. During his time in the Army he was awarded 3 Bronze Stars and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. Many knew Mr. Taylor as Mr. Wonderful as he was a kind soul who was always willing to help others. In his past time he enjoyed gardening and tending to his lawn, hunting, fishing and watching Alabama Football. He was an active member of the VFW and a proud veteran. Most importantly Mr. Taylor loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved when they were able to visit. Mr. Taylor was a member of New Beginnings where he served as head Deacon.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his daughter, Vickie Taylor Doolin (Sean); sons, Randy Lynn Taylor, Eddie Scott Taylor (June); grandchildren, Charter Lynn Nicholson (Brittany), Briana Nicholson Blankenship (Jason), Brandon Lee Taylor, Lucas James Taylor, Paul Bryan Story II, Andrew Blake Story, Christopher Blane Story; great grandchildren, Taylor Briley Blankeship, Brinlee Kate Nicholson, Asher Slade Hill; sisters, Nancy Lee Godsey, Judy Marie Birdsong (Buddy), Shirley Ann Taylor Rodgers (Jerry).
In addition to his parents, Mr. Taylor is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Patrick Taylor.
Funeral service will be held 12:00 pm, Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Union Grove Cemetery in Morgan City.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home.
