William M. “Bill” Moomaw, Jr., 80, died Thursday, March 25, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Alabama and worked at Mueller Brass for more than thirty years. He was owner and operator of Sanford & Sons Thrifty Store and served on the Vina Town Council for sixteen years.

Services will be Sunday, March 28, 4 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Jerome Sherrill and Bro. Mark Daniel officiating.  Burial will be Holly Springs Cemetery, Hodges, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife – Philomena Moomaw; three children – Michael Moomaw, Robert Moomaw (Vanessa) and Bryan Moomaw; four grandchildren – Kyle Green (Sara), Ashley Moomaw Devis (Rick), Tristan Moomaw and Braden Moomaw; two great-grandchildren – Tucker and Charney Green and one brother – Bobby Moomaw (Theresa) and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William M. Moomaw, Sr. and Elizabeth Mobley Moomaw and a brother, David Mobley.

Pallbearers will be Tristan Moomaw, Braden Moomaw, Kyle Green, Arthur Dyer, Joe Giaquinto and Dale Raper.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 27, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
