  Lillie Pearl Ingram Ray, affectionately known as “Lill”, was born April 7, 1937 in Leighton, AL. She departed this life on Sunday, March 20, 2021 in Florence, AL at North Alabama Medical Center.

Lillie Pearl was adopted and raised by her aunt and uncle, the late Lillie Bell and Fred Ingram. She attended Leighton Training School and remained a continued as strong supporter until her death.

She accepted Christ at an early age and served as a member of Bible Way Baptist Church, serving on the Mother’s Board.

A former resident of Buffalo, NY, Lillie returned to Leighton, AL after a long and successful career.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Bell, Fred Ingram, and Nannie Mae Neloms her grandson, Marcus Merriweather, her brother, Rev. Otis C. Neloms, and her grandparents, Harry and Lucinda Hayes.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her three children, daughters Pamela Merriweather and Dena Jones of Leighton, AL and a son, Randy Ray (Tonya) of South Carolina; grandchildren, Latonya Tatum, Tennille Brownrigg, Michael Merriweather, Inicia Ray, Markeisha Ray, Pamela Thomas, Davetta Pitts, and Jeffrey Brown; a host of great-grandchildren; siblings, Percy L. Neloms of Leighton, Queenie Sue Cole of Leighton, Doris Robinson (Walter) of Marietta, GA, Rev. Parvin Neloms (Sue) of Tuscumbia, AL, Harry Neloms (Janice) and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Annie Neloms of Leighton, AL; Aunts and uncles Harry Hayes, Jr. of Buffalo, NY and Gertrude Johnson of Linden, AL; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
